Skeggy In Colo(U)r.

I live about as far away from the sea as is possible on our little island. Visiting the sea remains a very special event and once there, I am endlessly fascinated by the coastline and the sea itself. If I lived there, I’d never run out of things to photograph, whether it’s the wild coastline of the North-East or the holiday towns that are long past their pre-Ryanair heyday.

Last Sunday, we had a trip to Skegness, a fading resort on the east coast. It used to be famous for stag nights and hen parties, ‘Kiss Me Kwik’ hats and candyfloss, but now seems to be all about swearing, questionable tattoo/vest combinations and mobility scooters in clouds of cigarette smoke. It’s the sort of place where Tony Ray-Jones or Martin Parr would have a field day.

E had been ill and still wasn’t in the best of moods, so I only had a few occasions to fire off a quick snap as we had awful fish and chips, reminded ourselves what a terrible place it is, and left at maximum speed.c200-10-of-16c200-9-of-16c200-6-of-16c200-13-of-16c200-2-of-16c200-1-of-16c200-4-of-16c200-3-of-16c200-8-of-16c200-7-of-16c200-5-of-16c200-12-of-16c200-11-of-16

Back in the safety of Leicestershire, we were out to visit family and I shot a couple of cute roll finishers of Emily…c200-15-of-16c200-16-of-16Gubbins:
